Post-doctoral position at the French W-LCG tier-1
for the LHCb experiment

We are seeking candidates with interest in Particle Physics research and a solid background in scientific computing. The successful candidate will be based at CC-IN2P3 in Lyon, the French W-LCG tier-1 (http://cc.in2p3.fr/). He/She is expected to have (or rapidly gain) knowledge on LHC computing in order to provide an effective technical support to the physics teams involved in production and analysis tasks. Physics analysis activities will be developed within the French teams involved in the LHCb experiment.

To qualify, the candidate should have a PhD in Particle Physics and at least two years of HEP postdoctoral research experience. Collaborative work in large international research projects and prior experience in grid computing is an asset. Good communication skills and the ability to liaise effectively with end-users are essential.

Applications should be received before July 31st, 2008. The appointment is for 3 years (eventually renewed once), starting November 1st, 2008. Depending on previous working experience, the candidate can expect a net monthly salary between 2500 € and 3500 €. No nationality restrictions apply to this position.
